LSC instrument of choice for apoptosis

Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, was originally defined based on morphology.
Flow cytometric methods used to identify apoptotic cells are based on measurement of
. a single parameter associated with biochemical or molecular change, considered to be characteristic of apoptosis.
However, atypical apoptosis
.(false positive), lacking one or more such features is not infrequent. Confirmation by cell morphology still remains the gold standard for the detection of apoptosis.

Only the LSC offers the opportunity to rapidly measure large cell populations and also to visualize them and determine the stage of apoptosis – as shown in the following figures.
