Field Applications Scientist, Western US

 

Are you an experienced cell biologist with expertise in high-content cellular or tissue analysis, flow cytometry, or cellular imaging?  Do you enjoy working with others to solve problems, using the most sophisticated quantitative imaging cytometry instrumentation?

We are currently looking for a Field Applications Scientist located in Southern California to work with LSC technology customers, developing novel applications and providing technical information and demonstrations to prospective customers, with the goal of expanding the range of applications for CompuCyte instrumentation.  This is an excellent opportunity to interact with key scientists from the world’s leading research institutions and pharmaceutical companies, taking responsibility including:

  • Developing and validating novel applications for customer use on iCyte, iCys, and iColor Imaging Cytometers, optimizing instrument protocols for specific applications

  • Conducting on-site training sessions

  • Performing feasibility studies for potential customers and preparing reports based on data generated from studies

  • Providing scientific support to regional sales activities and demonstrating CompuCyte instrumentation for customers and potential customers

  • Participating in scientific meetings

  • Organizing and conducting regional LSC technology scientific seminars

To be successful in this position, you will need to be a self-starter and have:

  • An advanced degree in the biological sciences with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in flow cytometry, cellular imaging, or related biomedical field

  • Thorough knowledge of appropriate scientific methods and techniques.  Laboratory experience in one or more of the following is preferred: cellular and molecular biology, cellular immunology, high-content cellular and tissue analysis, cell surface and intracellular fluorescence labeling, FISH analysis

  • A portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on ability to organize and communicate complex concepts in a clear manner

The Field Application Scientist will work primarily out of his/her home office, with defined access to use CompuCyte instrumentation located at UCLA.
