SENIOR SYSTEMS QUALITY ASSURANCE ENGINEER

CompuCyte Corporation, a manufacturer of highly sophisticated laser scanning imaging cytometers for the growing drug discovery, biomedical, and life science research markets, is seeking an experienced software quality assurance engineer to lead the software quality assurance function.  The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer will guide the testing and verification of new features and defect corrections of the .NET-based applications that control our instruments, analyze images, and generate image-based data for life science research and drug development.  The position involves both hands-on testing as well as leading a small staff in SQA activities.

The Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer will:

• Develop software test strategies, write software verification test plans and protocols and execute test protocols for CompuCyte products.

• Write test result reports, track progress, and supervise other SQA engineers as required.

• Manage and maintain the Software Configuration Control Server housing all source code for CompuCyte products and their subsystems.

• Manage software defect capture, tracking, prioritization and resolution of software defects.

• Write policy and procedures for Software Configuration Control and release processes, in collaboration with the Software Development Group.

• Work with software and hardware development engineers and others to automate verification where possible and to provide appropriate output or software hooks to aid or streamline verification.

• Become expert in CompuCyte software and act as a resource to other departments in the features, functionality and troubleshooting of CompuCyte software.

• Ensure that safety requirements are implemented and tested.

The successful applicant must have:

• BS or MS in Science or Engineering with 3+ years experience validating Software

• Experience with Software Configuration Control tools such as PVCS

• Familiar with software development environments and software test tools

• Excellent leadership skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

These additional qualifications are a plus:

• Electrical or electro-mechanical background.

• Comfort with software development within the scientific domain (math, physics, and cell biology)

• Experience with .NET-based Windows development in C#
