Field Service and Applications Specialist

 

Are you an experienced biomedical engineer or cell biologist with technical expertise in high-content cellular or tissue analysis, flow cytometry, or cellular imaging?  Do you enjoy working with others to solve problems, using the most sophisticated quantitative imaging cytometry instrumentation?

CompuCyte Corporation develops, manufactures, and markets advanced quantitative imaging cytometry instrumentation for cell- and tissue-based analysis. Our laser scanning technology and advanced software tools give investigators the power to combine high-content quantitative data analysis with images (morphology), for the most demanding research applications in biomarker discovery, target validation, drug safety testing, toxicology, and molecular pathology. 

We are currently looking for a Field Service and Applications Specialist to work with our Distributor and selected customers and collaborators to promote the highest level of customer satisfaction by providing technical assistance and training on both operational and application questions, as well as on-site instrument service and technical support by:
  • Providing telephone, on-line, and in-person technical assistance to CompuCyte’s Distributor and selected CompuCyte customers and collaborators, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, analytical and procedural problems. 

  • Providing training and technical support to the Distributor in servicing CompuCyte products.

  • Providing scientific and technical support to the Distributor’s sales activities, responding to Distributor and demonstrating CompuCyte instrumentation for customers and potential customers.

  • Providing feedback from the Distributor and customers to the development and manufacturing engineers in order to improve product quality and serviceability.

To be successful in this position, you will be a motivated self-starter and have:

  • At least 5 years experience in technical field service for high-end analytical instrumentation, preferably with laser-based imaging systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of appropriate hardware and software principles employed in the Company’s products, scientific methods and techniques.

  • Extensive laboratory experience with automated cell analysis technologies such as flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy and/or image processing.  Thorough familiarity with fluorescence-based analytical reagents.

  • An advanced degree in engineering, biomedical engineering or the biological sciences with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in flow cytometry, cellular imaging, or a related biomedical field.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.  Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on ability to organize and communicate complex concepts in a clear manner.

  • Superior customer service and human relations skills.  Must be able to satisfactorily resolve situations in which the other party’s interests and approach to resolving a problem may not be in conformance with the Company’s.

This position requires extensive travel, both domestic and international.
